The weather has seemed to turn chilly overnight. One day it was summer and the next it was autumn. I love fall more than any other season and I'm currently busy sewing myself some lovely new (warm) clothes. For a bit of inspiration I was flipping though the only two autumn magazines in my collection (I think I may have to buy some more when I get a job...). Here are some of my favourite images of fall fashion:
(The first three are from 1935 and the others are from 1941)
(Anyone else think the girl in the above picture looks a bit like Dita Von Teese?)
What is on your autumn wish list?
By the way, I've noticed I am two followers away from hitting 200. I have a giveaway planned for when I do reach 200 so stay tuned!
That's All.
All quite divine inspirations!
ReplyDeleteLovely images!Autumn, my main theme these days :-) I have to finish my (summer) blouse, after that I wanna sew a jumper and a warm skirt with a matching cape...I already have the patterns, but I really need some 48 hour days ;-)
ReplyDeleteDeanna Durbin--all grown up! I've only seen her in movies as an adolescent, so I almost didn't recognize her.
ReplyDeleteAutumn is my favorite time of the year, too. We had such a hot summer, so the changing weather is very welcome. I just hope we can get some nice weather in before it starts getting really really cold!
My wish list is a mile long ;) The short version is I plan to sew a yellow swing coat, two dresses from 1940's patterns and knit a sweater or two from "A Stitch in Time" (AMAZING vintage knitting pattern book. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves vintage and knows how to knit!)
ReplyDelete@Susan: I'm actually working on a skirt and matching cape too! I'm pretty excited about it but I messed up my first try. I've now drafted my own pattern (instead of the free one I was using) and bought more fabric.
ReplyDelete@Lauren: Haha I didn't even notice it was Deanna Durbin! Thanks for pointing that out :)
...and an autumn accessory for your blog - the irresistebly sweet blog award :-)
