For a variety of reasons I have not be getting as dressed up as I used to. I'll admit my "normal" clothes are not slobbish by any means, but I do miss putting on a nice frock and a fancy hat. As a result, I have decided to make an effort once a week to go all out. Sundays are normally spent going for coffee and driving through beautiful farmland with the family, so I thought it was the perfect day to pick.
Many of my beautiful vintage dresses don't fit due to post-university weight gain. Despite rumours of the "freshman 15", I actually lost a lot of weight at university. Unfortunately, due to a lot less walking and slightly less healthy food, I have since gained it back. While I certainly don't mind being curvier, I do miss my vintage dresses (which I can't afford to replace at the moment). Luckily I am slowly managing to narrow down a bit and can wear some of my bigger vintage dresses. This red dress has always been one of my favourites. It is a 1970's polyester dress, but it is very comfy and easy to wear. I paired it with my mom's old tiger print scarf and a wide brown belt.
And can I just take a moment to recommend this great new lipstick I discovered? It's called Zuzu Luxe by Gabriel Cosmetics and I am totally in love with it. I have a chemical sensitivity so I can't use many "normal" beauty products, which limits my lipstick use. However this is one of the most natural lipsticks I have ever found. I have the Starlet shade and it is a beautiful bright red. It is very moisturising and not the least bit drying. (This isn't a promotional post or anything, I just honestly love this lipstick!)
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
That's All.
I'm in the same boat with losing weight whenever I started school and gaining it once it's over and missing my vintage! Vintage dresses are a lot less forgiving sadly
ReplyDeleteYou're rocking those mixed patterns fabulously, dear gal! Love the animal + red and white polka dots. It has a certain 50s rock and roll feel to it that I so adore.
