Hello everyone! Just got back from a week at the cottage. Everything has been so hectic lately, that I had to jump on the opportunity for a mini vacation at the last minute. I had planned to finally make some more youtube videos while I was up there (that hopefully would not be deleted by my computer this time....), but I had a weird allergic reaction (in the form of horrendous migraines) to something in the cottage. I never did figure out what was causing it and had to spend most of my time outside. It was great during the day as it forced me to find different things to do and we had a bunch of fun day trips, but at night it was rather boring (it was also pouring rain a lot...).
Anyways, I'm back and having a bit of a rest after my holiday. It's funny how a holiday can make you feel more tired than before you left!
Britt and I managed to also sneak in a little day-trip to Port Perry before I left. We had lunch at my favourite coffee shop, followed by shopping, some great homemade icecream (from the same coffee shop), and then some yarn shopping. I donned a 1930's inspired outfit for the occasion. The skirt is thrifted and the blouse was made with one of the Vogue vintage pattern reprints of a 1930's blouse. The Steve Madden shoes are one of my favourite pairs, but I will admit I actually wore flats most of the day. The heels are over 4 inches high and make my feet go numb if I wear them too long.

Britt wore one of my Phonograph Fashion blouses :)
I may have finally found a solution to my wrist problems. Stretching, massage, and essential oils for circulation seem to be helping a lot. I've actually been able to do a bit of knitting lately. I managed to finish my Men's Broken Rib Cardigan at last! It should have been a quick knit, but as I gave up knitting for quite a while in the middle, it took the better part of a year. August isn't really the best time for super warm, extra large, comfy sweater, but I'm sure it will come in handy in a couple months.
The pattern itself was obtained through a book borrowed from the library. I'm so grateful my local library has an amazing knitting book selection! It's technically a men's sweater and I quite liked the pattern. My only complaint is that the sizing seems off. I measured and checked my gauge, but the final sweater is HUGE. I feel like I'm swimming in it. I just wanted it for an "around the house sweater" so it doesn't matter, but if I had of been making it for someone else it would have been quite disappointing.
Now off to start another knitting pattern! (This one. It's free and from the 1930's)
That's All.
