I'm stuck on the sofa this weekend with a terrible cold. Actually I think it is some sort of cold-flu hybrid that not even elderberry tea is knocking out. I made a really potent batch of elderberry syrup, so hopefully that is enough to kill it.This cold certainly has me longing for 2 weeks ago when I was in fine fighting spirits and managed to sneak in a trip to the antiques market.
Now, I'm not really a bit fan of my local antiques market. I was horribly spoiled with great antique markets when I lived in Waterloo, and the one I'm stuck with now just doesn't compare. It has a poorer selection and higher prices. However, every once and a while a treasure can be found.
I wore my "new" vintage dress for the outing. I picked this beauty up in Toronto during my last trip with Britt. It needed minor mending, but was nonetheless a bargain. It a 1970's dress and a little shorter than I normally wear. (In all honestly, I tend to sit in a very unladylike manner and thus prefer skirts long enough to prevent flashing random strangers). I do love this dress, even though it should be slightly out of my comfort-zone. It's nice to try something different every once and a while.
My only purchases at the antiques market were two postcards. I love old postcards but am very particular about what I add to my collection. These two met my criteria of being pre-1920s, and having an interesting message.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.
That's All.
