Thank goodness for retail therapy! Pretty things may not solve life's problems but they sure help ;)
(I should add this shopping trip was my first time out of the house, other than to campus, in almost 3 weeks! How is it that I can do so much work and still not get enough done?!)
Anyone know anything about "topper" dresses? I couldn't find any info about this lovely "new" dress I bought. My best guess would be it's late 40s/ early 50s.
That's All.
No clue on the dress my eyes are too busy oggling the book lol
ReplyDeleteLovely finds! Maybe it´s a house dress that women wore over their clothes like a wrap dress - maybe topper means "on top"? I would even date it to the late 30s..? We are waiting for a full image of you wearing it ;-)
ReplyDeleteSorry no idea... it looks a bit like a house dress though, like Susan said.
ReplyDeleteOh that dress has really nice print. I want to see you wearing it!
ReplyDeleteI always wonder how I can have "no time" and still haven't accomplished anything! Sounds like you needed out of the house! Buying old stuff always makes me feel better, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for your input on the dress. I can't wait to wear it and will post pictures when I do! I'm just waiting for the weather to cool down a bit since it's boiling out there and I don't like sweating too much in vintage...
ReplyDelete@Nelly: It's a great book! It has a lot of information but it also has tons of pretty pictures. I actually picked it up used for $5!
Sorry to hear you're not feeling too great. Things always improve eventually, though!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of all of your purchases, by the way L)
